March is a Wild Thing!

Designing my contribution to the March '08 Club Kit, Wild Thing, at Deco-Pages was so much fun for me... Wild Thing... Well, naturally you think of trips to the zoo but I also thought of my grandchildren playing in the yard and running around like "wild animals"... I have lots of those types of pictures to scrap and I'm thinking that a trip to the zoo with all the grandkids could be on the agenda for this Spring! Wild Thing... you make my heart sing!

Name It & Claim It

I love designing digital kits! What's the hardest thing about it? For me, it's naming them!!! That just seems to be an area where I draw a complete blank! So, your assignment (should you choose to accept it) is to help me name this newest kit of mine.... although not all elements are shown, I've tried to include a sampling of all of them.... check out the preview, and leave your suggestions.... whoever comes up with the name that tickles my fancy, will get the kit free..... let the naming begin!!!

WOW.... has it really been TWO MONTHS since the last time I posted anything here??? I always thought once my children were grown there would be more time for everything I wanted to do. These days I'm left wondering: Where does the time go? The holidays with family were good, the New Year was Okay... it's hard to get real excited about a New Year when you're also looking at another birthday... I've been keeping very busy with the day job and working on Club Kits at Deco-Pages.... another fun thing going on right now is the Print My Keepsake Contest at Deco-Pages.com that's going on this month.... the designer's all got together to create a fantabulous kit for it.... and there are really exciting bonuses for everyone who participates... I'm always looking forward to the first of the month.... That's when I get to put my contribution to the ....Deco-Pages Club Deco monthly mega-kit out for the club members.... and December's mega-kit, The Giving Season, has turned out to be totally fantastic.... it's almost a Gigabyte in size and just packed with cool backgrounds (135 of them) and elements (OMG.... there 275).... Work, Work, Work

That's all I seem to do these days.... work, work, work.... Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm at the "real" job then head home to spend a few hours at the computer with a head that goes mysteriously blank with creative ideas when I actually have the time to put thought to pixel.... but this past weekend, I actually managed to create some really FUN holiday backgrounds and get them in the store at ..... Deco-Pages... A few hours tonight should let me finish a full holiday kit that I've been working on this past weekend, too.... I still haven't thought of a name for the kit, so I guess I'll have to give that a little more thought!!! Hope everybody is having a great day!!!

Quick & Easy Gifts

Special gifts should be easy, don't you think? The Design Team at Deco-Pages has come together and created a 19-page 4x6 quick page brag book.... and I must say, it's pretty awesome.... (see it Here) I'm planning to make my daughter and daughter-in-law recipe books using November's Brag Book pages.... take my files to Walmart and get 4x6 double-prints, pick up a couple of SEI's Preservation Series brag book albums (under $5 each.... less with a coupon at Hobby Lobby).... and for less than $20, I've got two very personal gifts all wrapped up!!! Now that is SWEET!

After-Thanksgiving Sales

We've gathered with the family, stuffed ourselves on turkey with all the fancy trimmings.... now it's time to focus on other "treats"..... I'm talking about those wonderful "treats" offerred by all the stores.... those wonderful "After-Thanksgiving Sales"..... I just love them, don't you? They're such a great way to start the Christmas shopping season (and save some money, too).... Weathering the Weather

Well, I guess it had to happen sooner or later... after near-record temperatures of 70+ this week, today the temps are dropping into the 40's with misty rain and snow... it's supposed to be getting colder this afternoon and evening with the snow increasing. Looks like we just might be in for a "White Thanksgiving" this year! While we aren't looking forward to that, spending time with family (and eating too much turkey and pie) will be great! Here's hoping your Thanksgiving is great!!!

On The Road to Recovery

Well, my little guy was one sick puppy for a couple of days but, a trip to the vet's office --- a shot, two prescriptions, some specific food, and a vet bill of $150 seems to have him back on the road to being healthy! Whew.... now all we need to do is go over the house with a fine-tooth comb to find and clean any areas that might have been missed!!!

Sick Baby

Oh my, I have one sick little guy at home today! Our 6 year old MinPin has been one sick puppy for the last two days... and we (well, really Del) has had to clean up a LOT of sick-puppy messes!!! Del is taking him in to see the vet ASAP and will let me know what they say as soon as they are finished.... Keep your fingers crossed that it's just a 24-hour puppy-flu virus that he's picked up and not something really serious!!!

Giving Thanks

Family, friends, even our pets... WOW... they can really get under our skin, can't they? But... (admit it; they can really be frustrating at times) where would we be without them? Who else can we call on in emergencies... who else can we lean on when we need emotional support... who else can help us celebrate the really great times in our lives? Thanksgiving week seems to be the one time every year when we give that some thought... I'm hoping this little 4"x6" brag book page will help you identify at least ONE individual who makes your life complete... Here's a few of mine...

Today is kind of a sad day for me... It's gotten a little too chilly for us to be out camping (well, mostly it's an issue of being out in almost freezing temps at 6:00am to walk the dog) and we're putting the RV to bed for the Winter today... Night, night, Big Guy.... we'll see you in the Spring!

I am firmly convinced that Deco-Pages' Club Deco is the greatest bargain there is for digi-scrappers!! I just love watching the Mega Kit come together... all the different designers adding their own coordinating kits to create one HUGE monthly kit... most months the final kit hovers around 1 Gigabyte... at $36 for an annual membership, that's a LOT of scrapping treats for just a little bit of money!!!

As I said in my last post, a 35' RV isn't exactly "roughing it"... but there are things that you give up or do without... a king-sized bed for starters... that seems like such a silly thing, but when you have to share a "full-sized" bed with two dogs... one with a serious attitude about his own sleep comfort... several times a night, a short sharp "Ggrrr-UFF" and four tiny paws pounced sharply into the middle of the back tell us that we have ventured into "his" space... that's when a really good night's sleep goes out the window... Gosh, it's good to be home!

I am so pleased to announce that Debbie Abbe (iwannaalife2) has agreed to join my creative team. She is a very talented and prolific scrapper who brings a lot of enthusiasm to my little team. She and the other member of my team, Cate Sforza, are creative blessings and are helping to spread the word about my kits. Debbie has created a Quick Page to share from my kit, Days Gone By. Technologically Impaired?

My children laugh when I claim to be technologically impaired... for years it seemed I was operating an IT "Help Desk" from my home with calls for "Help!" coming in at all hours, but these days cell phones seem to be beyond my comprehension and texting is a pastime that I leave to the young.... When I was making my very first post yesterday, all my links appeared to be working..... but today I discover that I went happily off to bed with a bad link to my little freebie.... I *think* it's working now (for whatever it's worth, it worked for me today)..... Did I mention that I thought this was "hard work"? I hope you will bear with this technologically impaired Granny while I work out the bugs on this blogging stuff.....

Where Do I Start?

Having made the decision to start a blog, I've been wondering exactly how I am to go about starting.... I think it's probably a lot easier to scrap (or design) than getting this blog started.... LOL.... I'm running a Color Challenge at Deco-Pages this month and giving away lots of rewards to the participants. I'm thinking that a little freebie to go along with the October Color Challenge would be a fun way to get started.... and here's what I decided to offer as my first Freebie.... {sorry, this Color Challenge has ended and the freebie retired}... and then come on over to Deco-Pages, participate in the Color Challenge (you're going to be scrapping anyway, right?), and get free rewards.....
